Where limits
become beginnings.

Sometimes you know something needs to change, even if you're not quite sure where to begin. You might be navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, a major life transition, or patterns that leave you feeling stuck.Therapy offers a space to better understand yourself, explore what's no longer working, and develop new ways of responding to life's challenges. Together, we'll work toward greater flexibility, more intentional choices, and a life that reflects what matters to you.

A threshold can be both a limit and a beginning. A limit is the point at which something becomes difficult to sustain. A beginning is an invitation to step toward what matters now.

THE WORK WE DO

Understanding yourself
is a good place to start.

Most of us develop ways of thinking, responding, and relating to others that make sense at some point in our lives. But those same patterns don't always continue to serve us.I provide individual therapy for adults who want to better understand what's keeping them stuck, develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions, and make meaningful changes in the direction of what matters to them.

A bit more personally.

Outside of work, I’m a wife, a mom to two young children, and an avid reader. I enjoy time outdoors, good coffee, and time at home with my family.

What It's Like to Work with Me

You can understand yourself pretty well and still find yourself stuck in the same patterns. Sometimes insight comes easily. Figuring out what to do with it is the harder part. That's the kind of work I enjoy. I like asking questions, connecting the dots, and looking beyond the obvious. I'm interested in understanding not just what's happening in your life, but what's keeping you from moving in the direction you want to go.You can expect genuine conversations, thoughtful questions, and honest perspectives. I won't push you toward conclusions or pretend there's a simple answer to everything. But I also won't shy away from difficult conversations when they matter. And somewhere in all of that, there's usually room for a little humor.REQUEST A CONSULTATION →

More flexibility.

My work is grounded primarily in
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

A practical approach to meaningful change.

How can you respond to difficult thoughts and feelings in ways that help you live the life you want?

01

Notice what is happening

Explore the thoughts, emotions, habits, and circumstances shaping your responses.

02

Respond with more flexibility

Practice noticing thoughts without automatically following them, making room for feelings, and returning to the present.

03

Move toward what matters

Clarify your values and translate them into specific, workable actions.

A foundation, not a script.

I’ll explain what we’re trying and why, incorporate other evidence-based interventions as appropriate, and invite your feedback.

Meaningful conversations.
Practical work.

Before scheduling

We’ll clarify fees, insurance options, and telehealth requirements. You must be located in a state where I am licensed at the time of each session.

A note about privacy

Keep initial messages brief and avoid detailed clinical information. Reaching out does not establish a therapist-client relationship.

Urgent needs

This practice does not provide emergency or crisis services. Messages are not monitored continuously. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department.

Before we meet

Three things to check.

01

Complete your forms.

Complete the intake and consent forms you receive through Headway before your appointment. Let me know if you have difficulty accessing or completing them.

02

Find a private space.

Choose somewhere you can speak freely without being overheard. Headphones can help with privacy and sound quality.

03

Check your setup.

Check your internet connection, camera, and microphone before joining. Have your session link and appointment time handy.

For telehealth, you must be physically located in Virginia or Ohio at the time of your session.

What we’ll talk about.

Our first session includes questions about what brings you to therapy, relevant parts of your history, and what you’d like to work toward.

We’ll discuss how I work and consider what might be useful for you. There’s also room for your questions, including anything you’re uncertain about.

If notes help, bring a few.

You don’t need a rehearsed explanation. You might jot down:

  • What prompted you to schedule now
  • Patterns or situations you want to understand
  • What you hope might change
  • Questions about therapy or working together

These are starting points, not homework you need to complete.

Brief check-ins along the way.

You’ll complete brief questionnaires, such as the PHQ-9 and GAD-7, as part of your initial assessment and periodically throughout our work together. These help us track symptoms and changes over time, alongside what you share in sessions. We’ll discuss the results together and use them to inform our work.

Your appointment details

Start with Headway.

Your session link and intake paperwork are provided through Headway. Check your Headway account and appointment messages before we meet.

If you have trouble accessing something, please contact me beforehand.
